Welcome to Euxton Church of England (Aided) Primary School

“If I had children of my own I would love them to come to a school such as this”
Inspector of schools for the diocese.

Welcome to the website for our beautiful, one form entry, church aided primary school. At our school, children make great progress, attain very high standards, become independent thinkers and have a huge amount of fun! We are an established, thriving school with a proven track record of very high standards. We also have an amazing array of extra curricular activities.

Dividing Using Factors

Year 6 pupils have created a series of videos explaining how to carry out written methods in maths. See below for an explanation of how to divide larger numbers by a two-digit number, using the factors of the divisor to help.   Look in 'Learning Zone' to find more examples.

Tudor day

 Year 4 Tudor day

After learning all about Henry VIII and his 6 wives we celebrated the end of our topic with a Tudor themed day of activitites.

We started the day with quill writing using feathers and pots of black ink.  After playtime we wrote a newspaper article about the Spanish armada.  Later we played Nine Men's Morris, which was a boardgame where each player needs a keen brain for tactics - which we do!  After lunch we enjoyed taking part in traditional Tudor style dancing. Finally we sampled lots of exotic herbs and spices just like Henry VIII and his daughter, Elizabeth I, would have done after their ships and explorers returned from the far corners of the earth bringing strange gifts.

We had a great day!

Castle Banquet

Year 1 and Year 2 celebrated the end of their Castle topic with a banquet; dressing up as lords, ladies, knights and jesters.

They had a great time tasting bread, cheese and honey.

There was a test of the senses by trying to guess the different herbs and spices by using a sense of smell.

The banquet finished with each class performing tudor dances.

Have a look at the gallery to see the fun we had at the banquet!

KS1 Trip to Hoghton Tower

As part of our Castles topic Year 1 and Year 2 had an exciting trip to Hoghton Tower.

The children got the opportunity to role play as knights, Lords and Ladies!

We toured the house learning about life in the past and found out about King James I visit to Hoghton Tower in August 1617.

The children were even brave enough to go down into the dungeons!

Have a look at our gallery pics to see everything that we did.
